With our story package deadline approaching soon, the entire process is in its final stages and I am wrapping up all of my work. Where I am at this point is making all of the edits that my professor has suggested and perfecting the finishing touches to my story package. I am also finalizing the edits on my multimedia, which includes collaging all of the videos from my sources into one final piece. One of the videos from one of my sources seems to have a problem with the audio, so I am going to film her again this Thursday, April 25. Then I can complete my media editing. I have learned so much during this process, and I am so glad that I chose a topic that I am passionate about. I have always loved social media, but because of this project I have learned so many new things about social media that I never would’ve dove into if it weren’t for my JMS 430 class.
I created a social media survey for the data portion of my story package, and it has been so fascinating following the results. I have 88 responses so far, and I need a total of 100. When my survey gets 100 participants I will then continue on to the next step of my story package process and complete an infographic based off of the data that I retrieve from my survey. I had never created a Google Survey before this project so that was another thing that I learned along the way! It is so fun, and I want to create another one in the near future. I have been posting the link to my survey on my social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter, and those have been really driving in traffic to my survey. With the semester coming to an end so soon it feels bitter sweet! I love how much I have learned this semester, and I can’t wait to use all of these new skills in my future endeavors.
